Danny Grootveld is a keynote speaker, author, and documentary filmmaker from the Netherlands. Growing up in a religious cult gave Danny a firsthand understanding of tunnel vision—how certainty can narrow our perspective and shape the way we think, decide, and connect with others. After leaving, he became fascinated by why this same mechanism appears far beyond cults: in the workplace, leadership, politics, social media, and everyday life.
His memoir Tunnelvisie (Tunnel Vision) ignited a national conversation in the Netherlands about the impact of cults, psychological influence, and independent thinking, leading to appearances across national television, radio, podcasts, newspapers, and magazines.
Today, he helps leaders, teams, and organizations recognize and overcome tunnel vision—the hidden patterns that limit perspective, fuel polarization, and hinder change. In his TEDx talk, Danny invites audiences to rethink certainty—and discover how changing perspective leads to better decisions, stronger relationships, and deeper human connection.
